Like a warm hug on a winter day, the MontiiCo Insulated Food Jar is warming bellies (and winning hearts!). 

 

The newly redesigned MontiiCo Insulated Food Jars keep hot foods warm and toasty, or cold foods chilled. Made from durable stainless steel to survive the rough ’n’ tumble of the playground, with an easy-grip silicone band fitted to the lid for little hands to open.

For best results:

  • If packing hot foods: Fill the food jar with freshly boiled water from the kettle. Let it sit for around 5 minutes, empty the water out, fill with HOT food immediately and place the lid straight on.
  • When packing hot foods it is not recommended to store the food jar in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack. It will cause the food to cool down faster than usual.
  • If packing cold foods: Add ice water to the container for 5-10 minutes, then empty out and fill with your preferred cold food. Fill as much as possible, and close the lid ASAP.
  • Please note: the type of food packed in the insulated jar affects the time it will stay warm - food such as soups will stay warm longer than foods like chicken nuggets.  The more air there is around the food, the faster it will cool down.

No regrets

They seem to be all the rage at the moment, and had good recco’s. I absolutely love them mostly because of cute colours and they are easy to use and a good shape. And the biggest bonus they are very easy to clean. The downside is they’re not *that* good for insulation so you really have to heat up the jar before hand and make sure the food is really really hot but what’s good is I know the kids aren’t going to get burnt from their food because I’ve overheated it and it stays too hot. We love them so we are going to actually buy the small size as well - which fits into the b.box lunchbox, which is what we have.

Easy open food jar

Bought this after doing some research as my Preppie had difficulty with opening her previous food jar. With the help of the handle on the Montiico food jar, she can now manage the opening and closing. The wide opening of the food jar also allow food to be easily accessed. The only potential down side is that it doesn’t seem to keep as warm as the Thermos but this isn’t an issue for lunch time at school.
